John T. Reed is a real estate investor, adviser, and critic. Interestingly, many people may not agree with either one or more of these qualifications but somehow Reed seems to be doing a lot in real estate. He goes by the name of John Reed or Jack Reed and has been involved in real estate since 1969. That would make him a veteran in the field but his techniques set him apart differently.

John Reed does not sell a get rich quick technique to anyone, nor does he claim to have means by which you can earn some good extra cash. Reed is more famous for the reality-check he provides.

John T. Reed is the one person in the field who claims to be a real estate guru and tells people that it is not as easy to make money with real estate. He even goes on to say that at times it might be impossible. Reed’s investment career spanned two decades but his portfolio comprises only 12 properties. For an adviser on real estate, John has little experience in the field. He did not do too well on even these properties and wherever he made money was largely because the market itself just shot up.

John Reed is said to have written 50 books on real estate, a large number for someone with 12 investments under his belt. Nevertheless, many people appreciate John’s work and love reading up. His writing is not as creative and engrossing as some of the other gurus are.

However, John T. Reed’s books are packed with valuable information. No one knows how he got all the info but most of what he says is valid and realistic. Another thing rampantly found in John’s writing is his character bashing.

John Reed’s attitude towards other gurus is aggressive and critical. In his own words, about 2% of his books are dedicated to criticizing others. No doubt that this is good in some ways, especially since it gives the real, not so money centered picture of how each guru operates. He shows everyone the dark side of the mirror but somehow in doing this John Reed attracts a lot of dissension himself. Many people even say that John’s own teachings are lost in the criticism.
