Bob Proctor was born in a poor family in a small town in northern Ontario, . He was an average student and had to drop out of school soon in 1960. He spent some time in the Navy and shifted from job to job as he could not perform well anywhere. During this time, he came across a self-development book of Napoleon Hill - Think and Grow Rich. The book instilled confidence in him and soon he set up an office cleaning business. This business developed fast and attained international acclaim within a year. He shifted base to Chicago to work for his mentors- Lloyd Conant and Earl Nightingale. His excellent performance soon pushed him to the post of the Vice President of Sales at Nightingale-Conant.

During expansion and diversification plans of Nightingale -Conant organization, Bob Proctor realized the need to reach his ideas to individuals. He set up a seminar company in the seventies to work with few agents of Prudential Life Insurance Company. He presented motivational speeches to instill a high confidence level in the employees. He asserted that any agent could achieve targets of $5 million business if he decides to do so. This charged the agents and overall sales scored an unprecedented high with one of them touching the $5 million mark.

This established Bob Proctor’s motivational speeches on the business circuit and he spread his expertise across many more business entities all over world. He is famous even in far-flung areas of the east like and . Bob Proctor is also a renowned author. Bob Proctor also provided custom training to employees of reputed companies like Airlines, Keller Real Estate, Hayes Wheels, Metropolitan Life, IBM, and similar companies. However, a few drawbacks of Bob Proctor’s system are that he is more of a motivational speaker and does not offer any systematic way of earning good money.
