The Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) has been providing valuable education in all areas of real estate management for more than 70 years now. It is the only professional management association covering both commercial and multifamily real estate sectors. It has affiliation with the National Association of Realtors.

The IREM boosts of 8 international chapters and 82 chapters. It also has partnerships with several other institutes and organizations world over. As an international advocacy organization, the IREM deals with all kinds of real estate issues.

Real estate professionals can receive valuable education from the IREM in all areas of real estate management. Its courses cover all kinds of properties including – residence, office, and retail. The courses integrate theoretical knowledge with practical applications for timely solutions.

The institute’s courses are of three levels - fundamental, intermediate and advanced. The broad areas they cover are finance and asset management, marketing and leasing, maintenance, human resources, and risk management. Besides, the courses also include other important issues like business development, ethics, fair housing, leadership, leasing, and legal issues.

The IREM offers its courses through multiple modes. While classrooms are an integral part of their education system, they also make extensive use of online learning format. They have home study format as well. Delivery of education through multiple modes has made it easier for people from various backgrounds to take advantage of the courses.

The IREM has about 16,000 individual members and 530 corporate members. Its credentialed membership programs focus on ethical real estate management practices. These programs include the Accredited Management Organization (AMO) accreditation, the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation, and the Accredited Residential Manager (ARM) certification. Realtors undergoing through training in IREM get these esteemed designations. These designations are the hallmark of professionalism and competence in the real estate profession. Besides, the institute also offers the status of Associate membership.
