The Global Resource Network is a company that claimed to offer training and business opportunities in note brokering. Earlier, its name was Capital Investment Systems and it has its office in Del Mar, California.

The company boosted of a high quality international network to provide valuable resources to industry service providers, corporations and show organizers. They claimed to have over 50 years of experience in the industry, with over 20 years of international experience. The Global Resource Network had its presence in almost 40 countries across six continents.

Though the Global Resource Network used to make tall claims, there were numerous complaints against them. They used to invite people to a free seminar and then try to sign up for a one-day workshop. They used to make promises of turning people into fully trained Internet consultants through the workshop. They claimed that people would be able to make huge money with their leads and supplies.

Interestingly, they did not use to give people much time before signing up. The signing up fee for the workshop was US$2,995 if one accepted it immediately. They used to charge as high as US$4,995 to those wishing to give some thought before signing up. Those who did not have money to signup right away could borrow money from the Global Resource Network. However, the charge was US$4,995. Interestingly, they still managed to catch some people.

The training sessions of the Global Resource Network were actually an opportunity for their business partners to sell their services. Those taking part in the training sessions had to pay huge amounts for “supplies” of poor quality. The quality of the training manual was also very poor. They provided financing contacts that were out-of-date or were not into small deals.

Disgruntled with the Global Resource Network, one investor started The Disgruntled Dealers Coalition. This coalition gathered strength with over 600 people. Following this, the Global Resource Network disappeared. The Federal Trade Commission later filed a suit against them for illegal business practices.
