OnlyCritiques.com Review:
Ken Taylor is a seminary-trained clergyman and a prolific author. His autobiography Living Bible has inspired millions of readers all over the world, but he has maintained his humility and simplicity whole through. His spiritual orientation and commitment to work make him a respected figure in the field.
Ken attended Dallas Theological Seminary for three years after receiving an undergraduate degree in zoology from Wheaton College, Illinois. Then he received a master’s degree in theology from Northern Baptist Seminary in 1944. He was the editor of the Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship magazine for three years. He also served the Moody Press in Chicago fro 15 years as director.
Ken quit Moody Press in 1962 and published his immensely popular Living Bible. Besides, he is also the author of 10 children's books that include the best-selling Bible Story Book.
Living Bible is Ken’s version of the New Testament epistles. He had to take it upon himself to publish the book after many publishers rejected the manuscript. Several installments of the book appeared in the next few years before the release of the complete Living Bible in 1971.
In Living Bible, Ken tells how he failed to do something worthwhile of an extraordinary life. This book is a chronicle of reality that does not try to impress its readers with falsehoods and colorful explanation. As the reader and publisher of the book, Ken had enough opportunity to brag about himself. Instead, he has mentioned his own mistakes in clear details. He has spelled out his own doubts and failures in his marriage and family, in his work and in practice of his faith. He talks also about his business failures that place him on the verge of bankruptcy.
Using Ken’s experiences, millions of his readers have learned how to make right decisions in matters of family, business and religious faith. His book has sold over 40 million copies so far speaks volumes about the influence of his writing.
