Westwood College, previously known Denver Institute of Technology was founded in Denver, Colorado in 1953. Westwood College is a premier institution that offers high-end specialized career-oriented courses. With more than 18 Associate and Bachelor Degree programs, the courses are as diversified as criminal justice, gaming, and fashion, health care and industrial services to aviation maintenance.

The college has "accredited" courses. The enrollment is transferable to another institution in case a student needs it. Westwood College has branches in Atlanta, Southern California, Chicago, Denver, Dallas/Fort Worth and Houston. A healthy competition exists amongst them all.

The college, in keeping up with the times offers online tutoring as well. The College prides itself in coping up and offering new courses in coordination with industry itself to meet the new demands. They cater to industry demands and promise to make the journey from college to the real working world easier for students by equipping them with the required skills.

As we know, education is a major industry in itself. However, not the prime motive-the earning potentials are immense. You cannot ignore this.

Most colleges claim to be nonprofit institutions, yet they have to justify revenues and expenses. In a bid to enroll maximum students, they inadvertently state ambiguous benefits.  It is the case with Westwood. The college is mired in a controversy of making misleading statements.

The College had claimed that it would enable the students to get a transfer (of their fees as well) in case they had to leave the particular college. Students assert that this is untrue and that they were fooled. Many news agencies and press reports have reported on this as well.

If true, it implies that a student forego a lot. It could ruin his career. This claim may not be true and such promises could have been misinterpreted. Still, instead of believing on hearsay, it is better to do a fact-based research before enrolling.
