OnlyCritiques.com Review:
Government auctions are a good place to pick up some articles at bargain prices. The government holds auctions to dispose off its old vehicles, computers and furniture. Other items at the auctions are those seized from defaulters like antiques or luxury cars and boats. The government advertises these auctions in the major newspapers so that the public can attend and bid at these auctions.
One can survey and inspect the items at the auction a day in advance or a few hours before the auction. This is a good time to assess the items and estimate their value. In this way, one can bid only for required items and avoid taking junk just because it is available at dirt-cheap prices.
Usually there is a procedure for government auctions. One must first find out location of these auctions. Next, one must send a request for proposal to the agency holding the auction to bid as a contractor to conduct the auction. This can happen only if one is an approved vendor for government auctions.
Before taking, a contract for an auction one must find out the labor needed for such an exercise, the scale of the auction and the cost involved. One must undertake this exercise only if one has the resources to do so. One must then respond to every point of the proposal and back it up with the necessary documents and the needed information about one’s company. This ensures that one has every record in case of a dispute with the government agency at any point in time. One must handle at least a few government contracts since it adds credibility to one’s reputation and can get one new customers for future auctions.
There are number of individuals who claim to give inside information about government auctions. One should be careful of such fraudulent people who promise to share information that is readily available for a price. As explained above, there is nothing exclusive about government auctions and hundreds of people turn up at these auctions to buy good articles at discounted prices.
A vendor or an individual can thus pick up a good bargain at a government auction. One should be prepared to pay outright for the article bought at the auctions. Therefore, it is advisable to carry one’s checkbook or any other form of payment to the auction. Once bought, one cannot refuse to take possession of the item, hence, one must think twice before bidding at the auction.
