OnlyCritiques.com Review:
Direct marketing literally means directly reaching out to individual customers on personal level. It is thus different from traditional marketing, since it mainly deals with instigating an immediate response from the customer in terms of sale of the product, and not necessarily indulges in brand building or advertising.
Direct marketing is a widespread and budding industry with an already established market of roughly US$600 billion to US$1 trillion. Internet marketing is a small yet substantial part of this industry.
The difference between direct marketing and traditional marketing is the reaction that you are trying to evoke from people. Traditional marketing, which is synonymous with advertising, seeks long-term goals. On the other hand, direct marketing seeks instant and effective results.
Direct marketing aims for the sale, of the product or service, today or in the near future. It is not about getting the company's name in the public eye or being famous but just making money and making people aware of the business making opportunities that do or do not work.
The real trick lies in tapping the right market and not just product selection and advertising.
Direct marketing is a huge business in itself, and happens to be a relatively unexplored arena. For all those who seem to think that this area is too crowded and will be soon exhausted, here is a reality check- It is an industry, with a market value close to a US$1 trillion, there is ample room for you me and thousands of people like us.
Direct marketing might seem complicated in the beginning, so you might want to start with Internet marketing. It is relatively less expensive and much easier to understand. If you are spending US$500 for a web site, you will still own the site for plans if things do not go well.
Direct marketing always hits the right cord with the audience because of the simple reason that it treats every customer as a single individual and not as anyone among the crowd! It carries a message no doubt but at the same time, it answers questions and gets the orders.
In a world of increasing competition and the never-ending rat race, people are now returning to the basics of business, where the customer is your God. Direct marketing is just a revival of the old fundamentals, and surely is here to stay!
